“For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you,’ so we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?'”– Hebrews 13:5-6
The benefit of eternity in heaven is not a plan of our own design. It is attributed to Jesus’ great love for us. There are no obstacles in the path of His love that can separate (Romans 8:38-39). It is an everlasting love that cannot be isolated from us and at the same time insulates us in Him! This lane of strength allows us to walk down the avenue of faith boldly.
A woman said to evangelist D.L. Moody, “I have found a promise that helps me when I am afraid. It is Psalm 56:3 – ‘What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.'” Mr. Moody replied, “I have a better promise than that! Isaiah 12:2 – ‘I will trust and not be afraid.'” Faith catalogs all of God’s promises. Confidence arranges them by boldness. And God’s assurances are ranked with the highest requiring the most trust in Him. When we are afraid, we will trust in the Lord. Let us strive to first trust in Him and not be afraid. After all, “we do not battle for victory but from victory!”
“If we have communed with God, it shall be a marvel if we doubt, and not that we believe.”– C. H. Spurgeon
